MedTech Engineering Internship - Summer 2025

Contech Medical, a UFP Technologies company, is hiring an Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 at our MedTech campus in Providence, RI

Program Timeline / Hours:

• Start date will be late May / early June
• Expected completion of the internship is late August or early September 2025
• Full time (40 hours): Monday - Friday

We are not currently offering housing / transportation. Candidates should be within driving distance (45 min).

You will be involved in a variety of different tasks. Some of those tasks may include:

• Developing layouts, solid models, assembly drawings and detail drawings for new and redesigned products, using ACAD or SolidWorks.
• Interacting with internal personnel including engineering, sales, customer service as well as vendors to successfully completing assigned programs and projects.
• Testing materials and designs through screening testing or to demonstrate basic functionality.
• Working with quality to measure and inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Participating in continuous improvement teams to improve efficiencies and profit margins.
• Working with the production teams.
• Updating documentation as requested by engineering department.

What we want to see:

• Candidate must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college in a Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD and or Master Cam is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of PC, Windows, Internet applications. Word and Excel are a must.
• Previous technical internship /co-op is a plus.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical design and Machine Shop knowledge are a plus.
• Willingness to collaborate in a team environment and looking for opportunities to help.
• Team player who is willing to spend time away from their desk and on the floor working with our products.
• Candidate must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
