Job Description

Will work with colleagues to identify companies and individuals to pursue as key accounts/clients, both within the dedicated Industrial and Consumer sector as well as offering support outside of the specific domain. Approach and develop relationships with the senior executive teams of these potential clients; Maintain dialogue with existing clients to ensure that Spencer Stuart continues to be viewed as the executive search partner of choice. Involve colleagues as appropriate to ensure best team representation and market the Spencer Stuart network rather than just oneself; Lead and deliver outstanding quality execution of searches and value-added consulting, including setting the search strategy, and adjusting it during the course of the search, as required and teaming up with appropriate specialized resources by practice or geographic segment; Generate further assignments (for example, functional and international appointments) for others within Spencer Stuart to execute; Develop broader "trust based" relationships with clients, helping them to understand and solve their executive search needs in broader contexts of their industry and/or function; Develop expertise, in one or more of Spencer Stuart's "advisory services" such as executive assessment, executive succession, board effectiveness, and potentially others; Ensure that Spencer Stuart maintains high visibility within the Industrial Energy market sector and is recognized as having excellent knowledge of and access to talent in this market; Build strong relationships with candidates and other individuals within the market; Lead the initiatives designed to extend proactively Spencer Stuart's knowledge of senior executives; Keep abreast of things such as remuneration packages, organizational structures, typical and exceptional career paths, critical competencies, and so on for talent in the relevant sectors; Contribute to the marketing of the Industrial Practice Energy subsector and New York Office, defining appropriate intellectual capital/business development opportunities relevant to clients, as well as supporting the specific practice, office or Firm shared-leadership initiatives; Ensure knowledge is disseminated amongst the practice and office, working closely with associates and knowledge management teams, as appropriate; Continue to further strengthen the practice and office by assisting with the development of others; Developing and maintaining a strong internal network and being available when called upon for support.

Requirements:

Must have a bachelor's degree in Economics or related STEM field. Must have 5 years of experience in the job offered or related senior role in executive search within professional services industries. Travel 1-2 times per month to meet with clients, attend industry events and internal and external meetings. Must have experience with:

1. Business development, generating long-term relationships with key senior executives in the Energy sector;

2. Time and Project Management; ability to work on multiple competing projects;

3. Database management systems to store, modify, review, and analyze company information;

4. Deep industry knowledge of the energy, agriculture and commodoties space both in the U.S. and globally to develop and manage client relationships;

5. Planning executive search processes and determining appropriate search methodologies, tools, and technologies;

6. Conducting in-depth assessments of business experiences and professional competencies/capabilities of top executive talent in the Energy sector.
