Senior Associate, Trading (Securities Finance)

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Trading to join our Securities Finance Principal Trading team. This role is located in New York City - HYBRID.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

• Assist in day-to-day trading operations.
• Work directly with clients on a daily basis to understand and satisfy their specific needs and requirements.
• Ensure all locate files, trade files, position files are received/processed, assist in trade settlement and reconciliation issues across the trading desks as well as custody settlements. Track trades and correct routine trade problems.
• Identify and create tactical solutions to create a better client experience and trading efficiencies for the desk by using available firmwide tools.
• Work closely and build solid working relationships with internal groups including but not limited to: Custody Ops, Sec Finance Ops, Sales & Relationship Management, Credit & Risk, Compliance and Legal.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Experience in Alternative funds, Asset managers and other complexes preferred.
• Requires strong people skills/communications skills - daily interaction with clients.
• 1-3 years of total work experience preferred.
• No direct experience required but we are looking for a highly motivated individual who is a team player and keen to learn and develop the skills required for the role.
• High level proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel is essential.
• Some basic programming skills technology such as Python preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $67,000 and $136,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
