Great Hill is seeking a Staff Assistant in Washington, D.C. in support of the Department of State. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong administrative and logistical coordination skills. They will have a deep understanding of security protocols, experience working with sensitive materials, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring smooth office operations.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Maintains and disseminates daily tasking logs; monitors incoming and outgoing tasks (includingformal and informal tasks)
  • Continually coordinates throughout the day with Office Director (and/or policy coordinator) and OMSto provide administrative and logistical support to office operations
  • Coordinates clearances with appropriate DOS bureaus and embassies involved.
  • Coordinates responses to periodic inspector general (SIGAR and OFS) queries, includingcooperating closely with other State Department bureaus as required.
  • As required, and in consultation with OMS, serve as Executive Assistant to SRA and the OfficeDirector.
  • Applies internal control measures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use ormisappropriation of sensitive and classified material; reports instances of security violations/problemsto the appropriate supervisory/management official; assumes full responsibility for safeguarding allclassified and sensitive but unclassified material and equipment in assignment area(s).
  • Enhance the operations and foreign policy development and implementation of the Office as a wholethrough such executive support functions as: drafting, editing, and production of trip and briefingbooks; and general administrative functions as assigned.
  • Demonstrates extensive experience and ability in working with classified and unclassified computerdata base. Operation and knowledge of Excel, Microsoft windows, and related computer-basedprograms.
  • Serves as note taker and drafts memoranda of meetings and conversations as required.
  • The incumbent will perform all other duties required by the office and SCA Bureau as assigned.
  • Serves as the OMS of last resort in rare circumstances when/if the OMS and the backup (AdminSpecialist) are unavailable at the same time.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, international relations, business administration) or equivalent experience in a related administrative or support role.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administrative support, preferably within a government or diplomatic setting.
  • Proven ability to manage daily tasking logs, track and monitor tasks, and provide ongoing coordination with senior staff, including Office Directors and policy coordinators.
  • Strong experience in coordinating logistical support for office operations and handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related computer-based programs.
  • Experience in managing databases and drafting/editing documents, including trip and briefing books.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to serve as a note taker and produce accurate memoranda from meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior government officials and international partners.
  • Active TOP SECRET Clearance
