Job Description

This position in Maumee, OH is responsible for leading the fluid conveyance training team. This position will be responsible for creating and managing the training team's strategic plan. It will also develop, facilitate, and maintain training materials. A key focus will be to develop a value selling training program to drive sales growth at Danfoss and our channel partners. This position will also have global responsibility to evaluate and continuously improve technical training while expanding training offerings to other regions.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Develop and maintain the training department's strategic plan aligned with the key fluid conveyance divisions priorities.
  • Plan, organize and create the training facilitation schedule for virtual and instructor-led training sessions (over 80 classes each year). Align facilitator resourcing to meet business demands and customer requests. Quote for custom virtual and instructor-led training needs.
  • Oversee and maintain training center and equipment; plan and forecast budget needs for technical training centers updates, equipment and maintenance.
  • Proactively partner and collaborate across business units and cross-functionally to stay updated on business updates relevant to training classes.
  • Facilitate training sessions.
  • Maintain qualifications and certifications to instruct product and technology training courses, as needed.
  • Design learning experiences using instructional design best practices, including training needs assessment, defined learning objectives and training goals, pilot testing, implementation and evaluation.
  • Offer training design, development and facilitation coaching to training facilitators to employee development, instructor qualification processes and facilitation skills.
  • Manage inventory and updates of training materials, graphics, textbooks, written materials, presentations, audiovisuals, cut-a-ways, and other assets to support training programs.
  • Evaluate the hydraulics training market and trends.
  • Develop and execute a marketing plan for training products including hydraulic trainers, textbooks, publications, and cut-a-ways.
  • Recommend pricing increases and improved training solutions.
  • Evaluate technical training program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and surveys.
  • Participate in professional and industry trade groups, create a social media presence (internal and external) to increase market awareness of Danfoss Learning & Training Solutions and offerings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Up to 25% travel.

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications -



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Education or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years plus experience leading and driving organizational change and operationalizing programs and processes.
  • Must be able to work in the US, without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
  • Experience collaborating in a global fast-paced, complex organization and thrives in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to manage uncertainty, complexity, change, competing and shifting priorities and rally partnership and support.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.


Preferred qualifications -



  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Education or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in the hydraulics industry.
  • International Fluid Power Society Specialist certification.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Experience in sales and value selling.
