POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Solutions, LLC is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of various mechanical and plumbing systems to ensure the facility runs smoothly and supports mission accomplishment. This role involves a comprehensive range of tasks, from mechanical and plumbing maintenance to coordinating with vendors and overseeing emergency power systems.

Mechanical Maintenance:



  • Oversee and perform maintenance on chillers, dry-coolers, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, CRAC units, BCUs, supply fans, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.


Plumbing Maintenance:



  • Maintain plumbing systems including domestic water, water heaters, water softeners, pumps, PRVs, backflow preventers, and drinking fountains.


On-Call Duties:



  • Be available 24/7 for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical emergencies, including Radomes, ensuring swift response and resolution.


Vendor Coordination:

Work with Civil Engineering (CE) and vendors for escorting, scheduling, and designing tasks.

Project Engineering:

Engineer replacement projects for end-of-life equipment, seek out potential upgrades, and assist with the installation of cooling systems for new rack installations. Contribute to the design and quality control of new or upgraded projects.

Snow and Ice Removal:

Perform snow and ice removal duties around the facility to ensure safe and accessible pathways.

Facility Health Monitoring:

Conduct daily tracking of the facility's health to preemptively address any issues.

Cross Utilization/Additional Duties:

Support SST Team:

Assist SST team members with daily tasks as needed.

IT Support:

Aid IT operations by pulling wires and escorting personnel.

Facility Management Support:

Provide backup support to the facility manager, ensuring seamless operation during absences or vacations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Requirements:



  • Extensive experience in mechanical and plumbing maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Proficiency in coordinating with vendors and managing projects.
  • Technical expertise in emergency power systems and facility health monitoring.
  • Flexibility to support cross-functional teams and handle additional duties.
