Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager will provide direct support to the Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations and directly supervise the Dispatch department, including off-site Corporate Dispatchers. Compensation starts at $68,640/year depending on experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise drivers for proper dispatching
  • Maintain positive relationships with other agents, carriers, etc.
  • Assist in planning routes that are profitable for both the company and driver
  • Authorize all financial transactions with drivers for expenses, advances, etc.
  • Conduct interviews of new drivers, planners, and dispatchers, hire and fire staff as required
  • Assist in resolving issues with drivers or routes
  • Assist in billing accounts
  • Track and manage inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good understanding of driver and dispatcher relationships
  • Good understanding of internal mechanics of industry
  • Good people management skills
  • Excellent grasp of transportation logistic industry
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Google Maps, Outlook

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School. Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Required: 5 years of experience in transportation and moving industry industries

Working Conditions:

  • Indoors
  • Office Environment
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Normal business hours are in shifts beginning at 6:30am and ending at 6:00pm. Required to work every other Saturday from 7:00am to 1:00pm.
