We invite you to join our team as a Sales Merchandiser, where you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth for two of the world's most recognizable brands, WD-40 and WD-40 Specialist. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Home Depot store management teams to implement company-approved merchandising programs and plan-o-grams. You'll optimize shelf space, secure additional off-shelf display opportunities, and ensure that our family of products truly stand out in the marketplace. This role is home based in Tampa, FL with some travel within the surrounding cities in Florida such as Orlando, Fort Myers, and other major cities within the Southeast Region.



Responsibilities

    Maximize Product Placement for Sales Growth: Drive sales by strategically merchandising all authorized WD-40 Company products. Secure incremental off-shelf displays, resolve stock issues, replace missing product tags, and optimize in-aisle shelf space to enhance visibility and profitability.
  • Engaging Sales Presentations & Relationship Development: Deliver compelling, insight-driven sales presentations to Home Depot field representatives, including store managers up to regional merchandising managers. Secure promotional opportunities and cultivate strong in-store relationships. Collaborate closely with store employees to encourage reorders and support promotional events.
  • Leverage POS Data for Strategic Insights: Analyze POS data to evaluate inventory levels and pinpoint sales opportunities. Ensure optimal stock levels in stores and capitalize on promotional initiatives to drive sales growth.
  • Enhance National Account Programs: Work alongside Sales Merchandising Managers and Strategic Account Manager to implement national Home Depot programs, while proactively identifying merchandising enhancements to elevate the in-store customer experience.
  • Monitor Competitive Landscape: Stay up-to-date on competitive activities and provide timely insights to the team, enabling strategic adjustments that enhance our market positioning.
  • Ensure Administrative Excellence: Maintain precise account records, submit paperwork promptly, and provide product education as needed. Take responsibility for achieving all merchandising goals and aligning with company objectives to drive overall success.


Qualifications

  • Education: GED or equivalent
  • Big box sale/merchandising with an average of 5 or more stores a day
  • 2+ years of retail merchandising
  • Ability to unitize Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel 60% daily and overnight 40%
  • Current and valid driver's license with no violations is required - company car provided
  • Physical: Ability to frequently move and climb ladders up to 12" tall, work at height and carry boxed product down the ladder, lift up to 40 pounds, push/pull up to 75lbs, bend, stoop, walk for long periods around the store, squat, construct displays, and merchandise small items repetitively and unaided. Drive up to 100 miles per day. Willingness and ability to be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, including indoor/outdoor working conditions.
