What You Will Do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is looking for a Compliance Specialist to work with our legal department, focused on legal and regulatory requirements related to public contract procurement, government affairs and professional services. Responsibilities:
- Performs a range of legal and regulatory compliance activities for the company and its subsidiaries and affiliates under the oversight of the General Counsel/Corporate Ethics Officer.
- Coordinates with managers and technical subject matter experts in other corporate groups to support consistency on compliance efforts that are administered outside the Legal Department (e.g., safety, financial auditing, HR/employment issues).
- Reviews requests for proposals (RFPs) and similar solicitations for procurement of contracts with federal, state and local government agencies and advises stakeholders on certifications, lobbying disclosures, conflict of interest evaluations, and client ethics policies.
- Key role in developing, updating, and/or improving policies, processes and procedures pertaining to compliance issues, including but not limited to ethical business conduct, data privacy, global/cross-border business, anti-corruption/anti-bribery, third party vetting, and internal investigations.
- Identifies new and emerging compliance requirements, legislation, and trends in various jurisdictions where the company does business and advises on scope of application to the company's business.
- Supports consistent interpretation and application of policies, which may include implementing internal controls, delivering training, participating in internal investigations and communicating with external parties about the company's approach to compliance.
- Evaluates compliance risks, including but not limited to conflict of interest and business partner relationship risks, and develops mitigation strategies.
- Responsible person-in-charge of administering the organization's compliance efforts related to government affairs, including administration of the corporate PAC and other corporate political contributions in multiple jurisdictions where the company and its affiliates do business
Education | Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a related field required (compliance, legal, government and legislative affairs, public contracting/procurement).
- Certified Compliance and ethics Professional (CCEP) Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC), preferred.
- Post Graduate study in a related field is a plus.
- Specialized knowledge of procedures for handling of confidential information and administering recordkeeping systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of various types of corporate business entities and understanding of relationships and business practices in complex organizations with multiple affiliates.
- Experienced in the research and analysis of federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to campaign finance laws and reporting requirements for political contributions, public procurement laws, and requirements applicable to government contractors.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. Ability to self-train on software programs and cloud-based platforms maintained by various agencies for regulatory reporting and filings.
