Job Summary/Overview

The Parts Quotation Specialist is a cross-functional service role whose goal is to address all customer needs in a highly responsive manner. The Parts Quotation Specialist is responsible for handling incoming technical component questions and requests from customers and providing quotations. This role also provides technical component support to Customer Service and Sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Address and respond to sales opportunities by providing quotations, technical information support, and customer support.
  • Assist Channel Partners and End users to select the correct product for their request.
  • Communicate and partner daily with internal and external customers via phone and email, to ask clarification questions, provide updates on the status of requests, and ultimately meet customer needs with product solutions.
  • Provide technical support and product information to Sales and Customer Service.
  • Contribute to daily department workflow management and customer responsiveness, through properly logging quotes and managing and prioritizing daily backlog.
  • Assist in large parts opportunities to ensure accurate and timely delivery by collaborating with planning, sales, channel partners, customer service, engineering, and production.
  • Follow up on completed quotes as required, to assist sales in driving revenue and increasing hit rates.
  • Assist with any customer service-related questions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Knowledge and/or ability to work with material handling products is a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to objectively analyze/resolve customer related questions.
  • Must have strong telephone and interpersonal skills and be able to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be well organized and thorough with details and follow-up.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, work effectively with a sense of urgency and within a team, and present to groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to memorize repetitive part numbers and their application.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree desired
  • 1+ year of prior manufacturing experience in Customer Service, and quotation processing
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices preferred.
