Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior IT Manager, Manufacturing Operations to oversee the enterprise applications and systems supporting our procure to pay global business processes, with a focus on supply chain planning and manufacturing operations functions. The Senior IT Manager will play a critical role in driving digital transformation and ensuring that all IT systems related to production planning and manufacturing operations are optimized for efficiency, scalability, and security. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with business goals and lead the implementation of technology solutions that enhance operational performance and enable business strategy.

Essential Functions

Strategic Planning & Leadership:



  • Work as a strategic partner with the Avient business to develop and execute the IT strategy for the global procure to pay business process.
  • Be a strategic partner with key business stakeholders to drive business value realization, manage those outcomes in partnership with internal and external partners and focus on making an impact on growth and operating margins.
  • Navigate a complex organization to build consensus and alignment with stakeholders and project team.
  • Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to manage scope, goals, deliverables, resource management, risks and issue management, budget, and timeline.
  • Lead the IT team in the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems that optimize manufacturing processes, MES-Manufacturing Execution Systems, supply chain management, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure alignment of IT infrastructure and technology solutions with overall business goals and operational needs.
  • Manage IT budgets, ensuring that investments in technology are cost-effective and deliver measurable value to the business.
  • Lead the introduction and adoption of digital products, data intelligence and decision intelligence technologies within the procure to pay area.
  • Engage with executive leadership and be a strategic partner for value enablement.


Systems & Infrastructure Management:



  • Oversee the design, implementation, and support of planning, manufacturing (e.g., MES, SCADA), ERP systems, and other operational tools.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of critical manufacturing IT systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to evaluate, implement, and maintain new hardware, software, and technologies.


Team Management:



  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for team members.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure the team has the skills necessary to meet evolving business needs.
  • Work collaboratively as part of broader IT leadership team.


Project Management:



  • Lead cross-functional projects related to the integration of IT systems with procure to pay business processes.
  • Manage large-scale IT implementations with a focus on driving business value and innovation while minimizing disruptions and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the enterprise PMO team.


Continuous Improvement & Innovation:



  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies that can improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and support future growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, systems, and services to enhance operational productivity and performance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years focused on manufacturing, operations, or supply chain technology.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing supply chain planning and manufacturing-related IT systems (ERP, MES, SCADA, PLM).
  • Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional projects in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Track record of successful, global manufacturing and / or operational project implementations that met identified project deliverables and metrics.
  • Strong experience with SAP ERP platform.
  • Experience with MES platforms preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure) and modern manufacturing technologies (Industry 4.0, IoT) preferred.
  • Experience in implementing digital transformation initiatives within a supply chain operations environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure relevant to manufacturing and operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management expertise, with a proven ability to manage large-scale IT initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
