During the Program you will interact with and get exposure to multiple departments and leaders throughout the Credit Union. Our intent is to create a future career path for students who have an interest in the financial services industry. IGNITE is designed to expose you to a variety of opportunities while fostering growth and learning.

We are seeking students that are interested in a Summer 2025 internship supporting the Human Resources team. The HR Intern will report to the HR Business Partner team and will primarily support the department with merger related activities including HRIS data entry, reviewing and uploading employee documents, creating or updating HR policies/procedures/notifications. In addition, the HR Intern will gain exposure to other functional areas including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Total Rewards.

Additional responsibilities may include



  • Reviewing job applications and responding to candidates.
  • Drafting and sending communications and invitations for events and meetings.
  • Provide insight and support to HR projects.
  • Assisting with preparing for the bi-weekly New Employee Orientation program.
  • Helping with generating reports and analyzing HR metrics.


Requirements for the HR internship



  • Currently attending an accredited college or university.
  • Rising juniors and seniors working toward a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Organization Development, Labor & Industrial Relations, or related major. Rising sophomores may be considered.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to work 32 hours per week for the summer (generally 8:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday) for the duration of the 12-week program (5/27/2025 - 8/14/2025). The schedule will involve onsite days based in Lake Forest, IL. Local candidates only.
  • Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite including email, calendaring, and instant messaging. Basic knowledge of an HRIS or ATS is a plus!

    • Familiarity with U.S. employment laws and HR practices.
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Administrative and organizational skills. Detailed oriented.
    • Ability to work independently after receiving work direction. Good time management skills.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Budgeted amount for starting hourly rate: $18.50

The internship is a seasonal part time position and is not eligible for most benefits.
