Job Description: We are looking for a Waste Disposal Sales Representative to join our team, covering the Charlotte-area disposal facilities. The ideal candidate will be skilled in selling waste disposal services to industrial accounts, transporters, consultants, and emergency response companies, with a primary focus on municipal solid waste. This role involves building and nurturing strong relationships with client accounts, prioritizing customer satisfaction, driving high-quality revenue, and maximizing sales opportunities within the existing customer base. Job Duties:
- Proactively identify and target industrial accounts, transporters, consultants, and emergency response companies to sell waste disposal services, including securing event-based projects.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships through regular follow-ups, responsive customer service, swift resolution of issues, and timely contract updates.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of project execution, providing hands-on administration when necessary.
- Offer consultative services to new and existing customers, coordinating approvals and ensuring seamless execution of service agreements.
- Drive revenue growth by upselling additional services and implementing pricing strategies to enhance and sustain revenue quality.
- Develop prospective customer lists using various sources, including local publications, directories, industry advertisements, trade shows, and online platforms.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to waste disposal and landfill management.
- Create and execute a sales and marketing action plan aligned with assigned goals and objectives.
- Engage with prospective customers to generate new orders, address outstanding needs, and recommend expanded services.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations that highlight service features and benefits.
- Assist customers in accurately profiling waste streams, securing necessary analytical data, and ensuring compliance.
- Prepare detailed sales contracts, including pricing, credit terms, and service specifications.
- Leverage negotiation skills to close deals and secure contracts.
- Submit timely and comprehensive sales reports, including updates on customer activities, pricing adjustments, serviceability, customer concerns, and personal performance metrics.
- Work collaboratively to achieve divisional sales goals and objectives as directed by management.
- Maintain an active presence in the community to stay informed about local business opportunities.
- Ensure 100% customer satisfaction by consistently following up on commitments.
- Represent the company at major industry trade shows as required.
- Perform approximately 90% of job responsibilities outside the office.
Qualification Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of sales and account management experience.
- 1-2 years of experience selling to large accounts or handling complex contracts.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Industry Expertise:
- Experience in waste management, environmental services, or analytical fields is required.
- Proven track record with long-term sales processes involving multiple decision-makers, complex strategies, extensive follow-ups, and technical support.
- Customer Service: Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Capable of performing general math calculations and applying them in business scenarios.
- Problem-Solving: Adept at interpreting and executing instructions presented in written, oral, or diagram formats.
- Computer Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint (preferred).
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel within the sales territory up to 90% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
