Job Summary The California Institute of Technology is seeking an Assistant Deputy Title IX Coordinator/Civil Rights Resolution Specialist. This position is a new role and excellent growth opportunity for professionals with experience in the areas of civil rights investigations and conflict resolution, who are looking to engage closely with the community of one of the world's most elite and international research and education institutions. The position offers a unique opportunity to build skills, knowledge, and experience in the areas of Human Resources, Student Affairs, or DEI and to explore a career in higher education. Reporting to the Institute's Assistant Vice President for Equity, Equity Investigations, and Title IX Coordinator, the Assistant Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Civil Rights Resolution Specialist is responsible for coordinating and conducting informal and formal resolutions, including mediated resolution agreements and investigations, of reported concerns and complaints by faculty, staff, students, and postdocs on campus and individuals involved in education programs at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, consistent with Civil Rights laws and Institute policies and procedures regarding non-discrimination, unlawful harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation. In addition, the Assistant Deputy will have primary responsibility for managing the administration of, and outreach initiatives under, Caltech's grant from the State of California relating to sexual assault prevention on campus. In this capacity, the position will work closely with the Campus Sexual Violence Advocate, a key confidential resource for the Caltech community, as well as with student leaders and outreach groups. This position would function as a key member of the Equity and Title IX office which sits within Human Resources and coordinates closely with Student Affairs, and other stakeholders across the Institute including Campus Security, Human Resources, and student leadership. This is a full-time and generally on campus position, as our entire community, especially our students, benefit from the Equity and Title IX Office's hands-on, collaborative, team-oriented culture, which has been the foundation of our team's success and accessibility.
