Position Overview

Do you want to help support the mission of the United States Coast Guard in Baltimore, MD? If so, we are looking for you! Pantheon Data has a need for a Senior Marine Propulsion Engineer who has experience working with power generation and propulsion systems. This person works within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center, Engineering Services Division.

Responsibilities



  • Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, including, but not limited to: power supply and propulsion systems.
  • Research and develop ship propulsion systems, including, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements.
  • Develop system documentation and ship specifications.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, shipboard propulsion machinery, and review and develop technical data packages, provide oversight on the development of machinery arrangements, conduct and oversee trade studies.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Minimum of 6 years of documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components.
  • Knowledge of ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.


Education

BS or MS in a Technical, Engineering, or Marine field

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Work Location

USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center, Glen Burnie, MD - Hybrid - four (4) days a week.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
