The job:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will find and onboard new manufacturers from across the globe to make and supply the physical education, sports and early-childhood products we invent and sell.

This is a full time, in-person position.

What you'll do:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will find and onboard new manufacturers from across the globe to make and supply the physical education, sports and early-childhood products we invent and sell.
Using our list of Target Products to resource, you will

1. Create clear, simple specifications for Target Products.

2. Research, contact and qualify New Vendors for Target Products.

3. Send requirements and sample(s) of Target Products to New Vendors

4. Receive samples of Target Products from New Vendors, and personally verify that samples received from New Vendors meet specifications. If the samples don't meet specifications, resolve all problems directly with the Vendor.

5. Organize, prepare for and host Target Product Review meetings

6. Document all decisions and personally complete all to-dos from Target Product Review meetings

7. Create accurate and complete vendor records in ERP for any new vendor

8. Prepare all information so that Replenishment dept can make first order with selected vendor

9. When the first shipment of the product(s) are received, personally verify that the shipment meets specifications. If not, do everything required to refuse the shipment and correct the situation with the vendor.

10. Organize and document progress on all product projects11. Document and organize the capabilities from each vendor in a company master "vendor capability list".

What does success look like?

You have successfully sourced and onboarded new vendors for our Target Products. The new vendors are successfully making our branded products according to our specifications but with lower total costs (product cost+ tariff cost+ inbound transportation cost), lower initial investment (mold costs, set up costs, MOQs, etc.) and faster order-to-inventory time than our current vendor(s).

Requirements

If the following requirements describe you, this might be a great role for you:

You have a few years of experience finding, negotiating with and onboarding vendors to make company-brand products.

You love products that are used in physical education, sports and early childhood education.

You are extremely well-organized, resourceful, dependable, and accountable.

You self-start, can advance multiple projects simultaneously, and completely own your responsibilities and outcomes.

You have a positive, optimistic personality and communicate clearly and simply.

You can occasionally travel

You have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.

Supply Chain Management certifications (e.g. APICS, CSCP) are helpful

Second language is helpful
