The Associate Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for driving engineering product development or aftermarket support execution and technical content for DRS's Naval Power Systems products such as power converters, motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies, energy storage and power distribution systems ranging from several horsepower to multi-megawatts. The PE leads a small engineering team to develop and execute the integrated master schedule and risk retirement plan. The PE works with engineering functional leadership and the program management office to ensure that the necessary resources are applied and delivering to plan. The PE works with the team to ensure product performance, quality & regulatory compliance, manufacturability, serviceability, safety and reliability are met for the product. The PE uses system design knowledge to drive overall product quality through verification, validation, and design transfer while adhering to the quality management system. The PE leverages their technical knowledge of the technologies, architecture, system level testing and interactions to anticipate and mitigate risk. Finally, the PE ensures that the product development process abides to the NPS Engineering Procedures and Product Development Lifecyle (PDL) process. What You Will Do
