POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant for the Dean of the Osteopathic Medicine program, South Georgia campus' work involves coordinating and overseeing high level administrative operations for the Office of the Dean. This individual must be able to work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful incumbent will perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodations:

Facilitates the interaction of the Dean with the campus, institution, community contacts/leaders, legislators, and Philadelphia/Suwanee college leaders.
*
Performs complex and confidential administrative functions including correspondence for the Dean to include distribution of internal email (on the behalf of the Dean), memos and forms. Responds to external correspondence timely and professionally to facilitate and enhance partner relationship building as required.

Takes initiative to create processes as needed to improve efficiency and reputation of the Dean's office and PCOM SGA.
*
Professionally communicates with new faculty hires in a timely fashion to introduce, onboard and orient to PCOM physical plant, faculty, staff, policies, procedures, technology, resources and support services.

Updates Dean regularly on campus and community events.
*
Manages calendar for Dean as determined and directed by the Dean.
*
Interfaces with on campus and institutional departments/representatives, including but not limited to, Student Affairs, IT, Chief of Campus Operations, Admissions, Student Records, Chairs of Basic Science, Clinical Sciences, Assistant Deans, etc. as required
*
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem situations, maintains confidentiality in sensitive situations, possesses ethical decision-making skills and uses sound judgment.

Supports the Dean's office with participating in and tracking campus wide initiatives for the purpose of annual campus reports, process and quality improvement.
*
Assists Dean with the communication of student remediation, academic warning and dismissal letters.
*
Coordinates meetings with community leaders, health system leaders, legislators and organizational leaders as necessary.
*
Assist Dean with coordination of Continuing Medical Education activities.

Perform other role-related duties as assigned or requested
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
*
High school diploma or GED
required.
*
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in business administration, liberal arts, or similar discipline,
preferred.
Skills and Experience
*
A minimum of five years' experience as an administrative assistant in a fast-paced office is preferred. Preference given to experience in College, University and Physician office environment.
*
Must be open to limited travel
*
Experience supporting a senior level academic leader is strongly preferred.
*
Proficiency in the Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite platforms; Strong emphasis with Microsoft Excel
*
High level of customer service
*
Strong collaboration skills
*
Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.75 The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
