Primary Function:

Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of Graduate Enrollment is responsible for managing, coordinating, and promoting the graduate recruitment processes internally and with other departments on campus. The graduate enrollment team will report directly to the ED. This position serves as the graduate enrollment liaison between academic departments, athletics, student life, and services. This position is also responsible for keeping the growth of graduate admissions at the forefront of Lipscomb University.

Responsibilities:



  • Works with the Director of Graduate Admission Recruitment Systems to ensure Slate is being used effectively. Help identify systemic inefficiencies and roadblocks and work towards resolutions to help grow enrollment. Helps to brainstorm new and innovative ways of using Slate and works towards implementation.
  • Provide continuous improvement with the onboarding process for new students, including relationships with key constituents on campus such as the registrar's office, financial aid, and student services. This can be largely accomplished through the management of the new student portal and Canvas orientation course.
  • Create and lead a quarterly meeting with key stakeholders in the enrollment process (financial aid, registrar, recruitment systems, IT). The point of the meeting will be to ensure processes are running smoothly, identify and address any recurring enrollment issues, and maintain effective cross-campus communication.
  • Development of recruitment plans and facilitating enrollment goals, and running meetings.
  • Establishes admission operational strategies by evaluating trends and keeping staff informed of changes that could impact their job; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
  • Identify and develop tools and resources to increase productivity for the recruitment team in their daily goals and objectives.
  • Development of training materials and ability to provide continuous training for new hires, including continuing professional development of graduate enrollment staff members.
  • Lead initiatives to maintain a strong team culture within the graduate enrollment area with a largely decentralized team. Including but not limited to, bimonthly meetings, retreats, emails, etc.
  • Work with marketing to create marketing plans for graduate admissions and assist departments with marketing needs. This includes creating new marketing initiatives and helping to strategize how to use limited resources effectively.
  • Initiate and lead the development/execution of graduate program events when they represent Lipscomb as a whole. This includes bringing others in to help with the logistics and operations of the event(s).
  • Create a 5-year and 10-year vision for graduate enrollment at Lipscomb University and work towards buy-in and implementation.


Skills & Qualifications:



  • Strong speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills are a must. The position interacts routinely with prospective students and families. This position must prepare regular written reports and may make oral presentations on behalf of Graduate Enrollment to internal, as well as external audiences.
  • Skill at translating complex concepts and strategies into practice
  • Ability to organize and lead project management for multiple simultaneous initiatives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Experience using SIS and CRM (Slate) Information systems and ability to learn new software
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are a requirement for this position.
  • Ability to collect, manage & analyze data.
  • Strong customer service skills. This position will work closely with prospective students, enrollment team members, and all members of the Lipscomb community.
  • Strong process management, resourcefulness, motivation, use of good judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines are important.
  • Successful facilitation of projects as a member of a core team is a must. The Executive Director of Graduate Enrollment must have the ability to balance multiple priorities, responsibilities, and programs simultaneously.
  • Understand the need for interdepartmental collaborations and quality assurance while also being able to work in a team environment.
  • Provide technical support and training on admissions systems to graduate enrollment team members and other college staff.
  • Represent Lipscomb University at various college fairs, personal connection interviews, and on-campus events. Lead activities related to establishing quality relationships with territory high schools. Review applications and render admissions decisions.
