Job Description Summary

Works under general supervision to physically set up meeting and dining rooms with tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment, for meetings and special events.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Sets meeting and dining rooms with equipment and materials, including tables, chairs, glasses, water, pencils, writing pads, audiovisual equipment, etc.

  • Transfers equipment to/from locations using a variety of motor vehicles.

  • Removes and replaces furniture as needed.

  • Stores equipment and materials properly and in the correct areas.

  • Provides ice and water to meeting rooms.

  • Empties trash from meeting rooms and function areas.

  • Picks up and returns linens from Housekeeping.

  • Vacuum meeting rooms.

  • Inspects all conference equipment for defects, cleanliness, or any maintenance that needs to be completed and reports to the supervisor.

  • Sets lighting, props, floral arrangements, decorations, etc., to support the needs of the Special Projects staff.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school graduate plus two years related hospitality experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures.

  • Ability to organize priorities.

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to work as a team member, and independently.

  • Ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles, including golf carts, vans, & pickup trucks with/out trailers.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record; must be insurable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.

  • Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach.

  • Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur both inside and outside.
