Finance Site Lead - Vernon Mill - Vernon, CA

OVERVIEW:

The Vernon Finance Site Lead is a cross-functional role that will allow you to collaborate with peers to achieve plant goals, partner with plant operations to support business results and the plant mission, support a strong fiduciary environment, analyze metrics and reporting, and provide business insights. You will have financial responsibility for the site that is part of the Flour Milling network that produces Gold Medal Flour in a unionized facility.

As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, you will gain significant Cross-Functional Team Leadership. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to Govern and/or Execute Control Activities by overseeing critical month/year-end SOX compliance actions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure Effective Plant Financial Management
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the annual operating plan, periodic financial forecasts, and monthly financial close.
  • Responsible for monitoring financial performance, identifying key risks and opportunities, and developing plans to close any gaps to plant targets.
  • Supporting site delivery of annual HMM targets.
  • Ensure Effective Financial Controls that comply with all company policies and support the safeguarding of company assets.
  • Maintaining the audit-ready status of internal controls through periodic review and self-audit.
  • Collaborate as a strong voice on the Plant Leadership Team (PLT)
  • Support development and execution of site strategies including financial insights on capital investments
  • Provide support and leadership on cross-functional plant and corporate initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
  • 3+ years of related finance experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work well on a team and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization (Partnership for Impact) and coach/develop others
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to influence, develop, and motivate peers while working cross-functionally with all plant functions and leaders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of related finance experience
  • Experience working in a finance/accounting role within manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in milling
  • Proven analytical and strategic skills (Analytic Proficiency)
  • Assertive, self-confident, and willing to offer opinions and insights (Plant/Site Leadership)
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and to effectively work with a team (Situational Agility)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $79500.00 - $119400.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
