DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the County Fiscal Officer 2, you will supervise and train the staff of the Fiscal Unit, monitoring the effective and efficient posting and filing of all fiscal ledgers, journals, records, and reports in compliance with acceptable accounting principles. Responsibilities include assembling the agency budget and monitoring both the fiscal year (state) and calendar year (county) budgets. You will have the opportunity to establish and maintain effective budget control mechanisms and provide upper management the information necessary to prevent budget deficits and revenue shortfalls. Other duties to include:
- Preparing monthly closings and reconciliations
- Establishing and executing an effective fiscal management plan for contracted services
- Periodically analyzing and updating the agency fiscal matters that impact the Children and Youth program
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Fiscal Officer 1; or
- Four years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
- Two years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
