SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Material Handler who will be responsible for safely handling of materials that drive the project's success. In this role, you'll manage the receipt, storage, movement, and issuance of construction materials and equipment, supporting our construction teams and maintaining an organized, secure, and efficient work site. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving Materials: Unload, inspect, and verify shipments of materials and equipment against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage materials inventory with proper labeling, storage, and documentation for full accountability and traceability.
- Material Distribution: Ensure timely delivery of materials to various on-site locations to support ongoing construction activities.
- Material Movement: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to efficiently move, store, and organize materials.
- Stock Control: Conduct regular inventory checks to avoid shortages or delays.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of material transactions, logging all materials into inventory systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in construction or industrial settings in a material handling role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts)
- Proficient in reading shipping orders, manifests, and packing lists
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting
- *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
