Job Description

The Brain Injury Neuropsychology Laboratory at Jefferson Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute in Elkins Park, PA, is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position under the mentorship of Dr. Amanda Rabinowitz. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research focused on chronic brain injury outcomes across the spectrum of traumatic brain injury (TBI) severity.

The fellow will contribute to ongoing research projects examining:

  • Predictors of clinical outcomes following moderate to severe TBI, with a focus on cognitive deficits, emotional dysfunction, and community participation.
  • Mobile technology interventions designed to address cognitive, behavioral, and emotional dysfunctions in individuals with TBI.
  • The long-term cognitive and emotional health impacts of participation in collision sports associated with increased head-injury risk.

Research activities may include data analysis from multisite longitudinal studies, development and testing of mobile health technologies, conducting neuroimaging analyses, and collaborating with local and national researchers. The Fellow will also have opportunities to explore their own independent research interests related to TBI and contribute to publications and grant-writing efforts.

This position is supported by Dr. Rabinowitz's NIH- and NIDILRR-funded research portfolio, which includes participation in the TBI Model Systems program and collaborative projects such as CARE4TBI and a Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center award.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from large, multisite datasets, including neuroimaging and epidemiological studies.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of mobile health assessments and interventions.
  • Participate in the design, execution, and dissemination of research studies.
  • Mentor research assistants and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
