Position: Senior Director Ecommerce- DWR Location: Connecticut/New York, open to remote Overview of the Role The Senior Director of E-commerce for DWR is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategies to drive near and long-term sales growth. This pivotal leadership role oversees all aspects of the e-commerce business, from strategic planning to daily operations, while fostering innovation and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record of scaling e-commerce businesses, delivering exceptional digital customer experiences, and driving performance through data-driven decisioning. Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive near and long-term e-commerce strategies to increase revenue and profitability
- Monitor and analyze e-commerce performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Provide regular reporting and insights on key performance indicators to senior leadership, informing strategic business decisions.
- Define and manage the digital user experience to improve engagement rates including the development and maintenance of a site merchandising plans
- Optimize the customer journey for both new and returning customers, focusing on opportunities for personalization and improving customer lifetime valueand retention.
- Be highly collaborative, developing opportunities with Merchandising, Planning, Digital Product, Marketing, Store, and Customer Service team members.
- Coordinate with x-functional teams to create and optimize revenue-driving promotions and offerings
- Manages allocated budgets and provides strategic input on financial planning for e-commerce initiatives
- Identify new areas of e-commerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking that solve for customer needs in the digital space
- Manage relationships with key vendors and technology partners
- Lead a cross-functional e-commerce team of specialists in site management, merchandising, production, and digital operations
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster team growth and expertise
- Continuously evaluate and improve organizational processes to enhance productivity and effectiveness
Qualifications
- Experienced ecommerce leader with knowledge of performance optimization tactics
- Skilled in analytics tools and data-driven decision making
- Familiar with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (preferred)
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute tactically and deliver exceptional digital experiences
- Comprehensive understanding of e-commerce operations
- Knowledge of operating an ecommerce business utilizing 1stand 3rdparty solutions
- Adept at balancing customer needs with business objectives in a dynamic environment
- Strong business acumen with ability to identify opportunities and assess risks
- Results-oriented with a track record of high performance
- Experienced in change management and strategic implementation
- Excellent interpersonal and influence skills with ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
- Proven leadership in complex, matrix environments
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex concepts clearly to executives
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring abilities
- Innovative thinker with capacity to connect disparate ideas
- Aligns with executive competencies, driving strategy, fostering commitment, and promoting innovation
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
- 10+ years of demonstrated success in an eCommerce role in a high performing retail business.
- 7+ years leadership experience
- 5+ years of project leadership experience; global project leadership experience preferred
- Track record of leading cross-functional teams through significant organizational change or digital transformation, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability
