The Learning Success Coach is a grant-funded position responsible for developing and conducting retention and support activities for students identified as at-risk of failing in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. This position provides direct academic support, mentoring, and case management and connects students to needed resources at one or more of the college's three main campuses with the primary purpose of improving course completion and graduation outcomes in the program.
This position reports to the Dean, Learning Success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Program Coordination and Student Engagement:
- Coordinate all program components and planned activities for the nursing program on assigned campus(es).
- Focus on engaging at-risk students through targeted initiatives to enhance their participation and success.
- Oversee program marketing, recruitment efforts, and the identification and selection of program participants.
Individualized Academic Support:
- Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty, and other staff to assess individual student needs.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans for each program participant.
- Provide tailored academic assistance, including mental frameworks for success, coursework support, and assessment preparation.
Student Success Monitoring and Intervention:
- Serve as a consistent support system, monitoring student progress and initiating timely interventions as needed.
- Facilitate access to support services such as academic, career, financial, and personal counseling, as well as tutoring, remediation, and study or life skills workshops.
- Collaborate with Student Support Specialists and Learning Success staff to promote student retention and completion.
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
- Conduct regular evaluations to ensure program activities align with grant outcomes and objectives.
- Maintain a comprehensive database to track student progress toward course completion and graduation.
- Prepare and submit annual reports and grant proposals to secure program funding and ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
Commitment to Equity and Inclusion:
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of program delivery and student engagement.
- Foster an equity mindset, emphasizing the importance of serving each student as a unique individual.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Regularly review and optimize processes to eliminate redundancy and enhance overall efficiency.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related subject.
- Three (3) years of recent demonstrated successful experience working with a diverse population in an educational environment.
Other required skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated successful experience in program and case management.
