DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of Accountant 1, you will assist the County Fiscal Officer and Administrative Staff. This position is responsible for provider budget analysis and rate setting, with final review resting with the Fiscal Officer. Duties include but are not limited to review of provider budgets, contracts and contract monitoring, and processing of provider invoices. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, or Schuylkill counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
