As a Digital Engineer, you will provide tactical support for the Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) program and assist with the maintenance and engineering of the refinery's DCS and PLC control systems, encompassing software, hardware, and networking. Collaborating with the process control team, engineers, technicians, and operators, you will ensure the safe operation of refinery processes. Additionally, you will participate in the Digital Maintenance Team's on-call rotation for after-hours troubleshooting and repairs. Our Team

The Digital Maintenance Team's vision is to maximize the availability of control system hardware and software through equipment lifecycle planning, reliability strategies and effective procedural repairs. You will be involved with prioritizing daily Digital group work priorities, ensuring the successful execution of related procedures and play a key role in the control system hardware maintenance.

What You Will Do

SIS Program Tactical Support:

* Project Support, Design Reviews, Commissioning Support
* Day to Day Requests/Troubleshooting
* Metrics and Reports - Activations and Bypasses
* Testing procedure creation and execution support
* Automated logic testing of programs (creation and maintenance)
* Project FATs and Project LATs
* SIS Testing Audit
* Maintaining Compliance Data Records
* Cybersecurity assessments

* Training Operations, INST, IRTG, Maintenance, and Engineering staff on the functionality of SIS Interlocks and Graphics
* Test Cause and Effect Diagrams, Update as built, and red line as needed for accuracy
* Control System Maintenance: The trouble shooting and repair of PLC/DCS equipment in the refinery - Replacing faulty cards, CPUs, power supplies etc. - Troubleshooting, diagnosing and correcting PLC/DCS communication problems - Minor PLC logic or HMI (human machine interface) graphics programming for modifications to existing software
* Support the DCS and PLC hardware and Upgrade Projects
* Support networking of devices - Example: SIS AMS
* Leading and promoting Root Cause Failure Analysis
* High-level of Stewardship and Compliance Ownership/Accountability
* Ability to travel to support FATs, LATs, Training, and other sites. (potential of 20% travel)
* Supporting annual maintenance outages / turnarounds which require extended work weeks/hours to support the SIS work execution
* Support a weekly on-call (24x7) rotation

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Experience troubleshooting PLC Code/Ladder Logic/Electrical wiring drawings
* Refinery experience with field walkdowns, visual inspections, instrument inspections
* Instrumentation knowledge of pressure, temperature, level, flow, valves, vibration, etc.
* PLC experience (i.e. Triconex/Allen Bradley/GE/Siemens)
* ISA/IEC 61511 SIS knowledge
* Valid US driver's license
* Able to perform the physical requirements of the role as listed on the job posting

What Will Put You Ahead
* TUV SIS certification and training
* ISA/IEC 61511 certification and training
* Knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management
* DeltaV DCS experiene
* Five (5) years or more of refinery or instrumentation experience

Physical Requirements of the Role:

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
* Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
* Ability & willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc. as required)
* Must be able to work in all weather conditions outdoors

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000- $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
