GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Logistics Intern will gain practical work experience in the field by learning the Planning, Tracking and Capacity Sourcing/Procurement roles within the Logistics Department. The Logistics Intern will be a key contributor in a Logistics Project involving digitizing bills of lading (BOLs). For this project the intern will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on the different options, value and cost of moving to Digital BOLs and present finding to the Executive team.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION

  • Complete a rotation with the Logistics Support team, learning how to source, procure, and conduct freight RFPs (Request for Proposal).
  • Complete a rotation with the Logistics Operation Team, learning the day-to-day operations including how to plan, tender and track the movement of raw materials and finished goods to internal and external customers
  • Participate in daily and weekly operational meetings, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) reviews, and supplier & customer meetings
  • Gain exposure to other key functional areas of Dole Fresh Vegetables' farm to fork supply chain
  • Create and deliver a final presentation to the executive team of Dole Fresh Vegetables.
  • Other duties as assigned


INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Summer 2025, 12-week internship
  • 100% onsite (not a remote internship)
  • Pay Rate: $20-$22 per hour
  • No relocation or housing assistance provided

Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office software, especially Excel, Word and Outlook is required
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Valid driver's license and use of reliable personal transportation


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
  • Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, lift up to 25 pounds, identify and distinguish colors, and work in a cold environment.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Full time, 40-hour workweek
  • No overtime expected
  • 12-week internship
  • No travel expected

Required Experience
EDUCATION LEVEL AND FIELDS OF STUDY

  • Fall 2025 rising junior or senior obtaining a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field
