WHO WE ARE The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for:
- Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark's lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Hallmark Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies
- Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.
- Building, securing, and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark's LOBs
- Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark's future
As a member of the DCOE group you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance. WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE As an Engineering Manager for Digital Marketing, you will provide technical leadership to deliver technology solutions to the Digital Marketing team. Essential responsibilities include:
- Define solutions and processes for delivering features based on knowledge of design/architectural patterns and Agile/DevOps practices.
- Ensure the systems design and requirements are aligned to achieve the desired business outcomes. Manage coding/quality principles are aligned to achieve the desired technology outcomes.
- Partner with product and delivery team to prioritize and groom backlog.
- Manage and provide technical ownership for feature delivery. Apply enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality. Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt. Responsible for compliance and security items and audit support at the team level.
- Act as a liaison for production activities/issues. Work with Product team to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria.
- Define technical stories and work with the team on work breakdown and execution. * Guide team members with skills and practices (planning & estimation, peer reviews and other engineering practices).
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the business, quality and functional goals are met with each release.
- Work with infrastructure, DevOps and Quality engineering team to ensure a smooth transition of build to production.
- Create tech design, develop, plan and/or maintain software applications.
- Write specifications, roll-out software, and consult resolution of production issues.
- Contribute towards writing technical stories to align with product vision.
- Responsible for defining code specifications and how systems will be constructed.
- Conduct code reviews and ensures code aligns with standards.
- Builds into and enhances the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipelines.
- Participates in scrum activities and ceremonies.
- Effectively collaborate with onsite & offshore team members in MarTech initiatives.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage key stakeholders at a business level in addition to a technical level
- Attitude to learn and adapt to new technology landscape during transformation stages

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineering Manager in agile scrum teams
- Minimum of 5 years of technical, hands-on experience designing, enabling, and optimizing Marketing Technology systems and solutions.
- At least 5 years' experience working with marketers, awareness of journey building in Marketing SAAS platforms like Salesforce Marketing cloud or similar.
- Experience working on SQL queries for data analysis and ETL with RDBMS (Relational Database management systems) with Teradata, MYSQL, PostgreSQL or similar
- At least 5 years' experience with ETL tools to do data integration like SAP Data services or similar
- At least 5 years' experience building highly scalable RESTful services with integration technologies
- At least 5 years' experience building highly scalable asynchronous processes (Event Driven Design)
- At least 5 years' experience leading and developing Applications, API design and development in MuleSoft or similar integration platform
- Experience building core components and services for alerting, monitoring, logging, builds, deployments, authentication, authorization, etc.
- Experience evaluating and implementing best practices tools and techniques for software development, leading code reviews
- Experience in continuous integration, testing and deployment of applications
- Experience with application build process and integration and deployments (on-premises and/or cloud environments)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred professional degree with major as computer science
- Experience working on major MarTech platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and their product offerings
- Experience in API driven development with integration tools preferably MuleSoft
- ETL experience with industry leading ETL tools, preferably SAP Data services
- Should have hands on experience in writing and analyzing SQL queries on RDBMS, Preferred Teradata, AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Aurora). Awareness of MarTech functions and an understanding of data flow, source and destination functions, persona & journey building, targeting, segmentation, email marketing
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their offerings, Preferred AWS
- Expert level in at least 2 major languages (Golang, .net, Java, PHP) & data weave (MuleSoft)
- Should be aware of data governance and data privacy best practices

- This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work both on-site at Hallmark's Headquarters and virtually from your residence in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area.
