GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Collateral Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the collateral and loan information for their portfolio. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): analyzing Borrowing Base Certificates (BBC) and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with the Loan and Security Agreement. This position is also responsible for calculating ineligibles and escalating anything out of the ordinary course of business to the appropriate people; processing of advances, collections and collateral updates; invoice review and processing; participation settlements with syndicate members; follow-up and resolution of past due interest / fees and reporting delinquencies; and daily interface with the borrower and internal operational units. The Collateral Analyst will demonstrate all of the Bank's Core Values; keeping the customer at the center of everything we do. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, will achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting risks of all types.

The role is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analyze Borrowing Base documentation for accuracy and completeness and to determine collateral availability; reconcile differences and input values into appropriate systems.
  • Include analyzed accounts receivable and inventory in the Borrowing Base packages provided to Relationship Manager/Portfolio Managed for review. Communicate any findings that are out of the ordinary course of business.
  • Update appropriate systems with Borrowing Base Collateral information and BBC dates. Process advances and payments.
  • Reviews collections received in the Cash Collateral Account and ensures accurate application on the collateral monitoring system; monitors daily borrowing availability and processes advance requests of customers; ensures all appropriate authorizations / approvals are obtained in accordance with policies and controls.
  • Develop and maintain a solid working relationship with customers on all questions. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Make sure P&I payments are taken timely.
  • Work with Syndicated banks regarding collateral and loan processing and documentation.
  • Backup peers while maintaining own portfolio that is up-to-date and well organized.
  • Operate within the Bank's risk appetite. Keep the customer at the center of everything you do.
  • Keeps knowledge current on operational procedures, systems and controls.
  • Complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 1-2 years prior collateral analysis/loan monitoring experience.
  • Knowledgeable in basic applications; Microsoft programs, as well as internal systems; Stucky, AFS, ACBS, ACE.
  • Excellent attention to detail, clear and effective communication skills, organized and thorough.
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise prudent judgment to make decisions affecting both customers and the bank.
