Description

Team Leader Cleaning/Janitorial

Penn United Technologies is now hiring for a Team Leader to lead our dedicated cleaning/janitorial team members. In this role, you would apply your knowledge and experience in Cleaning/ Janitorial and floor maintenance to provide supervision and coordination of team members' activities. This is a full-time, second-shift leadership role to ensure all Penn United Technologies' office, manufacturing spaces, and floors meet our high standards for cleanliness and appearance.

Responsibilities:



  • Ensure all team members are properly trained and equipped with necessary tools and cleaning products. Ensure team members wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow safety standards including safe handling procedures for cleaning products and equipment.
  • Schedule team members and delegate assignments
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to our high standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and facility appearance
  • Assist in interviewing, training and mentoring of new team members. Provide feedback and coaching for team members to develop their abilities
  • Set team goals and priorities and motivate the team on accomplishing goals
  • Assist in making cost effective spending decisions for the team
  • Initiate purchase of plant supplies for the team
  • Communicate with internal customers to understand upcoming needs and/or special events
  • Recommend facility or organizational changes to the Maintenance Manager that are needed to improve utilization
  • Ensure proper organization of the team


Qualifications

Education/ Experience Qualifications:



  • Required: Minimum of 5 years related experience in custodial/facilities maintenance
  • Required: Experience with maintaining a variety of floor types
  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Desired: Experience in a supervisory role


Knowledge and Skills Qualifications:



  • Able to effectively lead and manage people and collaborate with others
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Strong ability to communicate professionally
  • Service attitude, commitment to safety and quality, and the development of others
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work second shift (Monday - Thursday 2:30 pm - 12:00 am and Friday 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm)
