The Associate Patient Care Coordinator (Rheumatology) is responsible for greeting, providing excellent service, and valuing patients, providers, staff and others as the highest priority. It is the responsibility of the Registration Specialist to competently assist patients prior to and during their appointment by obtaining and updating the patient's personal and insurance information into our systems. By serving patients in a professional, cheerful and helpful manner this position acts as a liaison between the patient, provider and other staff members to ensure that patients receive the care they need.

Location: 1650 Chambers St. Eugene, OR 97402. Training will start onsite at 1007 Harlow Rd. Springfield, OR.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30am-5pm PST.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Greet customers face to face in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner and ensure customer needs are met. Answer questions and provide accurate and helpful assistance to patients and other guests
  • Interview and register patients and verify/update patient demographics/insurance coverage in computer
  • Collect payments from patients and issue receipts. Reconcile cash received daily
  • Provide assistance to patients. Arrange transportation for customers as needed (taxi, bus schedules, other commuter services). Schedule transfer services if required for a visit. Schedule translator as needed
  • Assist keeping clinic shared folder updated by processing e-faxes and other documentation
  • Book, coordinate and reschedule patient's appointments as necessary if answering phone. Relay necessary messages to clinic staff. Assist in necessary triage of patients to the back office for appropriate clinical decision making
  • As needed, act as the Clinic Concierge, greeting, directing and assisting patients and visitors
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 6+ months of customer service experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience with patient registration or healthcare front office
  • Experience with insurance plans and billing



The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
