Responsibilities

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

The candidate selected will be responsible for providing psychotherapy services for youth, adolescents and their families.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides psychotherapy services for residents to include individual, family and group therapy.
  • Complete Bio-psychosocial evaluations, risk and psychological assessments as appropriate.
  • Maintain all documentation according to facility guidelines to include progress notes, case management and individualized service plans.
  • Attends all treatment teams for assigned residents.
  • Provides clinical support/training for mental health techs.
  • Completes all progress notes and submit billing slips dads weekly clinical supervision.
  • Completes psychosocial assessment within 7 days of admission.
  • Completes clinical formulations for review by licensed mental health professional prior to the development of the Master ISP.
  • Completes individualized services plans within 24 hours of treatment team meeting.
  • Weekend coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

A combination of mental health experience and relevant education to deliver psychotherapy services to consumers. An individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job satisfactorily. Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in human services field i.e. psychology, social work, counseling, education.

Residency: Must be eligible for licensure as Supervisee in Social or Resident in Counseling by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Experience: Must have minimum 2 years of experience with appropriate populations.
