Job Title: Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice

Location: Neenah, WI

Blair Fire Protection, a top industry leader in fire prevention and protection, is seeking a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice to join their growing team in the Appleton/Neenah/Fox Valley, WI area. Showcase your mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and commitment while working side-by-side with a skilled journeyman sprinkler fitter to learn the sprinkler fitter trade.

Apprentices will complete on-the-job training along with an apprenticeship program toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter specializing in the installation of automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement with UA Local 669 upon hire.

Local travel is required, primarily in the northeast/central WI area. Weekly vehicle mileage allowance provided.

Qualifications



  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hand tool experience are required
  • Prior experience in construction fields such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrician is a plus
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently during an 8 to 10-hour shift
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
  • Must be at least 18 years old



Responsibilities



  • Distribute the piping and accessories from the truck to the designated material laydown area
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints
  • Install, inspect, and repair fire sprinkler systems
  • Complete correspondence coursework toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter
  • Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain applicable state licenses
  • Clean up job site vehicle and tools
  • Travel to job sites as required. Must have reliable transportation.
