These are exciting times in the Recreational Services Department and we are thrilled to have you become a part of our team. The Recreational Services Department is seeking an experienced Skills Trade Worker.

The incumbent will be required to perform advance level duties in maintenance and renovation tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and other building trades work in the Department of Recreational Services at the Atlanta campus.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

o Performs minor operations, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC, heating equipment, and plumbing.

o Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems assigned to HVAC and Heating.

o Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between department facilities on and off campus.

o Performs minor welding repairs; operates power tools.

o Performs light carpentry work such as rebuilding the dry sauna and table repairs.

o Mixes and pours concrete for foundations and fixtures.

o Performs sheetrock repair and painting.

o Installs, repairs and services motors, pumps, and fans.

o Operates heavy machinery, such as front-end loader, backhoe and lift.

o Assists in changing light bulbs and ballasts.

o Assists with floor cleaning such as terrazzo flooring through the facility.

o Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade area; or high school diploma or GED and one year experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade.

A valid Georgia driver's license is required.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating.

* Knowledge of basic principles and practices of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or other related trades.

* Ability to lift 50 lbs.

* Ability to perform strenuous manual tasks.

* Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating and plumbing field, such as jacks, meters, wrenches, etc.
