About the role:

As the Senior Automation Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our production capabilities. Leveraging your expertise in automation and project management, you will oversee the planning, design, implementation, and successful commissioning of automated production lines.In this innovative role you will drive programs that define and execute our short to long term technology road map and will have the ability to design and implement unique solutions that revolutionize our manufacturing site.

This role requires an onsite workmode from our GA office. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for the new automated production line, from initial conceptualization to deployment and optimization.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams: Coordinates, manages, communicates, and documents project goals
  • Ensures effective communication and timely completion of project milestones.
  • Assess existing processes and recommend automation solutions that increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Interface with vendors and stakeholders during the design and testing phases, including site visits.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards and company policies.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supports technicians during troubleshooting activities when complex technical issues arise on the production floor.
  • Designs and coordinates applicable engineering tests and experiments.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from complex test results.
  • Completes and manages Capital Equipment Request Authorizations (CERA's)
  • Train team members, including engineers, technicians, and product builders on specific tasks. Participates in the development of junior staff by providing guidance and offering counsel.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation Technology, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering with a strong emphasis in automation and project management.
  • Proven track record of managing small to medium-sized automation projects, with the ambition and capability to transition to larger scale projects.
  • Strong technical acumen in automation technologies, including PLCs, vision systems, robotics, vision systems and data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to vendor and partner sites for design reviews, testing, and project evaluations.
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
