Job Description: The Embry-Riddle Worldwide Dean of Students Office is seeking a Center for Mentoring Program and Student Success (COMPASS Program) Director. The Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and administration of a mentoring program that supports college students, helping them achieve academic, personal, and professional success across institutions. The Director will lead the program's strategic direction, manage day-to-day operations, and work closely with mentors, students, staff, and faculty to ensure the program's goals are met. This role involves developing partnerships, securing funding, and evaluating program outcomes to ensure its effectiveness.

Responsibilities include:

Program Management and Development

  • Design, implement, and evaluate the college mentoring program to meet student needs
  • Develop and manage mentoring program policies and procedures
  • Recruit, train, and support a diverse group of mentors
  • Match mentors with mentees based on academic interests, career goals, and personal development needs
  • Ensure that mentoring sessions are engaging, structured, and meet program goals
  • Coordinate events, workshops, and activities to promote mentor-mentee engagement

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to a team of program coordinators, assistants, and volunteers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes the success of both mentors and mentees
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and implement new initiatives

Mentor and Mentee Support

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to mentors and mentees to ensure successful mentoring relationships
  • Offer training, resources, and development opportunities for mentors to enhance their effectiveness
  • Address any issues or concerns in the mentoring relationships and mediate conflicts when necessary
  • Collect feedback from mentors and mentees to assess the quality of the program

Outreach and Recruitment

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit students for the mentoring program
  • Build relationships with faculty, administrators, and student organizations to promote the program and increase engagement
  • Collaborate with campus departments to identify at-risk students and encourage their participation in the program

Program Evaluation and Reporting

  • Collect and analyze data on mentoring outcomes, including student retention, academic success, and personal development
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders, including faculty, administration, and funding sources
  • Use feedback and data to continuously improve the mentoring program

Community Engagement and Collaboration

  • Partner with alumni networks, local businesses, and community organizations to expand the mentoring program's impact
  • Develop networking and career development opportunities for students by collaborating with external stakeholders

Financial and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring the responsible allocation of resources
  • Secure funding and resources through grants, donations, or partnerships with local businesses and organizations
  • Explore opportunities for program expansion and enhancement, including leveraging technology or establishing new partnerships
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Psychology, or Business
  • 1-3 years of student support and online higher education

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of student development theories and mentoring best practices
  • Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency in using office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and program management tools
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching First Year Experience Course or working in Student Affairs
