The Position
2025 Summer Intern - Operations Communications Strategy - Infrastructure & Architecture Department Summary The Genentech Research and Early Development organization is a world-class research and drug development organization. Staffed with some of the world's most brilliant scientists, bioinformaticians, and computational researchers, the breadth and depth of scientific expertise across a broad range of disciplines can't be overstated. Encouraging an open, academic-like atmosphere and frequently publishing in top-tier, peer reviewed journals, scientists work with a variety of technologies including high performance computing (HPC), cloud platforms, modern software development tools, petabyte-scale storage, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The Genentech Computational Sciences Department (gCS) is constantly building out next-generation applications and platforms in order to collect and process next-generation data with the goal of making more biological knowledge available to our researchers, including biologists and machine learning engineers. As part of the Technology Support and Operations (TSO) team, we are searching for a motivated detail-oriented summer intern to work on a communication strategy for supported applications and platforms. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing our current communication strategy and tools, interviewing application teams to gather communication requirements, and proposing a common, standardized communication solution. This internship is located on-site in South San Francisco, CA. The Opportunity

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $23-$31 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
