Responsibilities

Summary

The Senior Manager, Tax position is responsible for supporting the senior tax leadership including the EVP, Tax and Directors, Tax in all aspects of tax compliance, income tax planning and accounting for income taxes with a focus on global operations. This individual will work with financial management and assist in leading a Tax department consisting of highly trained and technical individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Senior Manager, Tax is responsible for managing tax compliance including review of complex book to tax differences and state tax filings, tax planning and accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) for the US and international operations with a focus on global operations.
  • Manages, plans, organizes global tax planning as part of a comprehensive tax strategy in support of corporate goals and objectives.
  • The Senior Manager, Tax manages or assists with tax due diligence of and tax accounting for acquisitions, dispositions and legal entity restructuring in order to evaluate US and global tax implications of new expanding operations and provide tax planning to minimize the Company's global tax liabilities.
  • Collaborates with the head of tax compliance and head of strategic tax and administration.
  • The Senior Manager, Tax oversees analyses related to tax reform and related implications on accounting for income taxes with a focus on global operations.
  • Develops and maintains a cohesive working knowledge of the domestic and international business operations.
  • The Senior Manager, Tax conducts special tax projects of a complex and difficult nature. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Master's degree in taxation and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) very desirable.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience with at least five (5) years in a public accounting firm preferred.
  • Experience in management positions with demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Strong skills in accounting for taxes (ASC 740) and international tax compliance and planning.
  • Strong corporate tax technical knowledge and advanced technical knowledge of GAAP.
  • Solid project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with the appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. Exposure to OneSource Tax Provision software desired.
  • Knowledge of integrated management information systems (Hyperion / Oracle) is a plus.
