ROLE

Designs program materials, maintains art studio and shop, and supports efforts to educate the public on sustainability through the Artist in Residence (AIR) program.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF - AIR Program Specialist

* Designs and develops program materials across various formats, including online and print media. Creates promotional materials, signage, and publications while ensuring high-quality visuals through image editing and color correction.

* Captures video and photo documentation of artwork and artists; organizes and maintains photo and video libraries.

* Maintains program databases and audio/video presentation equipment.

* Facilitates the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions for gallery openings. Coordinates the placement of artwork, including video and media, across both traditional and non-traditional spaces.

* Provides comprehensive support to artists, including fabrication, assistance with construction, installation, and exhibition preparation.

* Coordinates meetings, schedules, and timelines to ensure seamless support during artist residency periods.

* Maintains the art studio, shop equipment, and tools to ensure a safe working environment for artists and an orderly space for visitors.

* Handles, repairs, and conserves artwork.

* Assists with tours and public engagement as needed.

* Performs other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

* Three years related technical or art handling and / or gallery experience.

* Functional knowledge of print production and color reproduction. Knowledge of RAW photo processing a plus.

* Strong understanding of video production and computer equipment, able to troubleshoot.

* Proficient in Adobe CS, Filemaker, familiarity with HTML, able to learn new programs quickly.

* Able to sit, stand, and operate computer and office equipment.

* Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

* Has expert knowledge of major machinery and power tools. Proficient in a shop setting and knowledge of universal standard safety practices.

* Able to lead tours in varied weather, uneven terrain, and climb multiple sets of stairs.

* High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred.

* Valid driver's license required.
