What You'll Be Doing as a CNC Programmer:
Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge to support production and New Product Introduction (NPI) by assisting in moderately complex developing, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing processes to achieve reliability and high quality at reasonable costs. Able to Communicate with other manufacturing and engineering disciplines, relating issues of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and support, through drawings and other documentation.
Responsibilities as a CNC Programmer:


  • Assists in analysis of complex new components for ease of manufacture. Works with Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineering on moderately complex projects to ensure a reasonable and cost-effective design.
  • Provides and maintains moderately complex documentation by processing DCOs for manufacturing to support production.
  • Troubleshoots and improves existing processes to achieve better quality at reduced costs.
  • Designs and implements new conventional fixtures, tooling and processes.
  • Analyzes and initiates complex Document Change Orders (DCOs), internal/external audits, and training programs. Initiates more complex analysis and implementations.
  • Assists Quality group in integrating Statistical Process Control (SPC) practices into process development.
  • May program a variety of machine tool controls employing Computer Aided Machining (CAM) skills.
  • Applies "Lean" manufacturing practices in process development.
  • Maintains safe work environment and employs ergonomically safe practices into manufacturing processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Skills and Experiences You'll Need as a CNC Programmer:


  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of work-related experience in basic machining operations, assembly or quality assurance processes and procedures. Drafting and CAD practices preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Able to use computer software tools for effective design/process analysis and presentations.
  • Requires a full knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Performs tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge and use of appropriate safety and personal protective equipment required.
  • May be required to operate light tools and basic machinery as lathes, mills and other machine shop equipment.



Work Environment:
Normal office environment with occasional travel and exposure to manufacturing operations.
