Role and Responsibilities:


The Payroll Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining employee records related to payroll and processing paychecks according to schedule and in the correct amount for employees with different employment classifications. This role involves following all processing procedures, adhering to policies, and maintaining confidentiality.



  • All members of the team are required to uphold the mission and values and conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism. Ensure that all team members are aware of and understand the policy handbook as part of upholding the mission and values of the organization.

  • Create and maintain confidential employee master records and files. Handle all payroll-related data entry, including new hires, rehires, terminations, job, and rate changes.

  • Prepare and process payroll for assigned pay groups or companies. Review timesheets, reconcile hours, and post payroll through a 3rd party payroll provider for each pay cycle.

  • Prepare and process off-cycle payrolls as needed.

  • Research and resolve payroll errors or omissions.

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payroll matters.

  • Respond to and maintain 3rd party payroll requests and access.

  • Provide payroll coverage in the absence of the Payroll Specialist or Payroll Clerk.

  • Scan and file payroll office documents, ensuring confidentiality and security.

  • Assist with audits.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:




  • High School Diploma required. College Degree Preferred



  • Three years of payroll experience and at least two years of experience using UKG software, which is preferred.


Preferred Skills:



  • Must be able to follow instructions

  • Must be able to work as a team

  • Proficient in payroll software (such as UKG), and familiarity with general office software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to plan and organize

  • Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve errors efficiently
