Architectural professional specializing in academic planning and programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for focusing Page's intellectual capital in planning and designing for higher education clients, possess a deep understanding of the unique requirements and challenges associated with designing educational facilities, and have a deep passion for creating innovative, functional, and inspiring learning environments.


Responsibilities

  • Lead collaborative planning and programming sessions with direct client communication, translating teaching pedagogies into architectural form.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' programmatic and functional requirements.
  • Communicate planning concepts to clients and project teams, both verbally and through graphic and written reports which capture the academic mission and vision of each institution
  • Collaborate with design team members to develop planning concepts in an integrated design approach.
  • Provide technical knowledge of Academic spaces in programming, planning, design, and construction phases
  • Participate in research about area of expertise.
  • Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Leverage design talent and other intellectual content to contribute toward new project pursuits

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect preferred but not required.
  • 5 years' experience in planning and design
  • Demonstrated creativity, passion and interest for the planning and design of academic facilities which include Academic Science and Technology or Health Education type projects.
  • Ideally have developed a field of knowledge and/or expertise sufficient to be recognized outside of Page as an authority on the subject.
  • Technical knowledge of how programmatic needs impact building systems, operational requirements, movable and fixed furnishings, casework, and user equipment
  • Knowledge of planning, design, construction documents, construction administration and project construction cost control for Academic facilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
