The ideal candidatewillbe a certified CT Technologist whoexhibitsprofessionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service, while interacting with patients,guests,and coworkers, as well as the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds andmaintainpatient confidentiality.

Asa CT Technologist,you will perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipmentin accordance withprescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protectiveequipment,as necessary.

Primary Duties:

  • Assistradiologist with imaging procedures, startingIVs,and injecting contrast, if applicable.Assistradiologist with interventional CT procedures.Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film transmits to PACS.Charge procedures and supplies correctly.Assistsin the administration and administers various chemical substances torenderspecific organs or systemsopaquer. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.

  • Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.Quality controls all images,maintainsinventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.Load andoperatepower injections for contrast media administration.Maintainaccuratepatient records.Assistwithprovidingorientation and training to new CT technologists.

  • Manage scheduling and patient flow on multiple interventional CT scanners.Assistwith research and development with CT equipment manufacturer to develop new CT software andtechnologieswhen asked.Participate in research initiatives and development of research protocols.

  • Monitor charging of CT procedures and supplies daily to ensure correctness.Participates in inter or intra departmental performance improvement.Accepts patients and assesses their condition todetermineproper handling andspecific requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the examrequested.

  • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain themaximumdiagnostic image corresponding to body parts.Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Current Maryland State License.

  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
