Kennedy Jenks is seeking an ambitious and service-oriented Civil Engineer with a civil or environmental engineering background and water/wastewater experience. The Civil Engineer will play a vital role in evaluating and supporting the design and construction of conveyance facilities related to water, wastewater, recycled water, utility infrastructure projects, and treatment process improvement projects. We are a multidisciplinary firm looking for strong interdisciplinary coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and analysis: Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and drawings. Perform design calculations with support from senior team members. Assist the Project Manager where needed.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Write technical reports and maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation.
  • Project management: Support projects from conception through construction, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Lead small projects and attend both internal and external meetings as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a similar engineering field.
  • 5+ years of related water/wastewater engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE within 1 year.
  • Foundational knowledge in site layout, grading and drainage, and pipeline/yard piping design on projects of various sizes and complexities, with an ability to grow this knowledge. Project experience does not need to be in the Water, Wastewater, or Environmental industries.
  • Experience with relevant software including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, and Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $90,000 to $120,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
