Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
The Director of Education Strategy is critical in supporting CPG's mission by designing and implementing effective education strategies that empower B2C clergy, lay employees, and beneficiaries to take action in their best interest, consistent with CPG's purpose, vision, and three lines of business; and educate and equip B2B Administrators and Vestry Members to administer CPG benefits, products, and services on behalf of their institutions and employees.
This position reports to the Vice President of Education Planning. This position will have direct reports and requires close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Education Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Design and execute the annual education strategies for B2B and B2C audiences, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop tailored, engaging education plans and learning objectives for B2B and B2C clients to optimize understanding of benefits and resources, build relationships, and/or provide networking opportunities.
  • Design Curricula and learning events (in-person, virtual, and online) in support of the education strategy.
Collaboration and Delivery
  • Partner with departments and stakeholders to assess and address learning needs, objectives, and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with content creation teams and external vendors (e.g., Fidelity) to produce engaging and impactful education materials.
  • Inform the delivery of in-person, virtual, web-based, and online educational content, ensuring consistency and high-quality experiences across all platforms.
  • Work with Event Management Group and Benefits Relationship Management teams to enhance the learning experience at conferences, meetings, and other client-facing events.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Hire, lead, coach and develop staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee project workflows and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of education initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback and data analysis, using insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Stay informed of education trends, best practices, and adult learning theories to drive innovation in education delivery.
  • Develop processes and tools that enhance efficiency and scalability across B2B and B2C educational offerings and operations.
Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.

    • Curricula Development: Strong curricula design skills, with experience tailoring materials to different audiences. Ability to design engaging and action-oriented learning objectives and adapt strategies to meet evolving client needs.
    • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship management and consultative abilities; experience working with B2B and B2C clients is a plus.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • BA/BSin education, business, communications, or a related field is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • 10+ years of relevant experience in education strategy, benefits education, or a related field.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
    The role requires approximately 10% travel.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.     Salary Range: $114,300 - $153,000
