Position Summary: Regional Director-Outpatient Services

This position provides leadership and strategic planning for all outpatient facilities in the SUD Division. This position will ensure the delivery of clinical programs that meet the needs of the facilities, community, and for each facility's performance goals and objectives.

This position will contribute to each facility's strategic planning objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts while providing guidance to the directors at each outpatient facility. This role supports outpatient expansions and acquisitions.

Additional responsibilities include the overall administrative processes of budgetary control and management systems for all services offered at all locations.

Essential Job Duties Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of organized clinical services programs specific to each outpatient facility. Develop strategic goals and objectives for overall outpatient facility performance both clinically and fiscally. Evaluate program effectiveness and work with facility directors to formulate plans for improvement. Ensure each facility complies with regulatory and accreditation agencies' regulations and patients' rights and regulatory standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to all facility directors and staff in accordance with the facility's goals and objectives. Provide education, orientation, and in-service training for the facility directors and continually evaluate the activities, morale, and interpersonal relationships of the program staff and promote methods to improve in these areas.
  • Develop and maintain a current knowledge of general economic and business status of the behavior healthcare market within the greater SUD marketplace and provide management with relevant information and strategic plans, as appropriate. Maintain and regularly update analysis of facility's competitors within the greater SUD market, including programs, bed availability, SWOT, go-to-market strategies, and parent company.
  • Initiate and drive SWOT analysis of the target markets utilized for referrals, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the status of specific target markets. Proactively identify trends and changes in the marketplace and demand for specific niche programs.
  • Assist facility directors in monitoring of expenditures at facilities in compliance with budget.
    Ensure the monitoring census and discrepancies between actual census and budgeted census for all outpatient facilities and develop plans with business development. Approve/deny requests for increase/decrease in staff according to acuity and budgetary guidelines. Anticipate budgetary needs and participate in annual facility budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management and community partners to identify strategic locations for new clinics. Assist in the expansion of outpatient services within the SUD Divisional. Support efforts in setting up de novo clinics to meet the growing demand for Substance Use Disorder treatment. Ensure new clinics are compliant with regulatory standards and provide high-quality care.
  • Assist facility directors in planning, development, implementation, and improvement of organized quality assurance programming. Support facility directors in evaluating unusual occurrence reports, conduct investigations, and assist in implementing corrective plans when needed.
  • Participate in Senior Management activities to promote organizational cohesiveness. Meet on a regular basis with the SUD facility CEOs and Regional Vice President.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years related as well as Leadership experience in substance use disorder field required.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agencies' regulations including patient rights standards.
  • Superior leadership abilities with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory and state laws regulating mental health care facilities.
  • Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder treatment principles and age-specific programming and practices.
  • Strategic planning skills and proven track record of adherence to deadlines.
  • Understanding of the SUD marketplace, insurance plans, target markets, and referral sources.
