Ambulatory Nurse Supervisor - MATER

Job Description

Coordinates all obstetrical and medical care for MATERs patients and provides clinician liaison between MATER and OBGYN/TJUH; supervises medication dispensing at Family Center and nursing activities at My Sisters Place (MSP); responsible for maintaining medical compliance for all auditing agencies; and facilitates prenatal/medical education and assessment of MATERs patients.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising nurses; facilitate staff meetings; adhere to all TJU/MATER policies regarding hiring, training, and documented disciplinary actions. Maintains medical records, including importing notes, toxicology, and laboratory results from hospital medical records into MATER medical records, in compliance with regulatory and auditing organizations. Collaborates with Program Director to maintain licensure and accreditation statuses (e.g., provide quarterly Joint Commission-required data). Co-facilitate weekly treatment team meetings; acts as a resource to counselors and treatment team in medical matters (e.g., medication dosage, medical issues); reviews dosage issues with the treatment team weekly. Conducts nursing intakes with new admissions, providing education as appropriate for the prenatal, antepartum, postpartum periods and beyond. Collects/documents birth outcome data; makes rounds on hospitalized infants. Interfaces with TJUH medical staff in OBGYN and Pediatrics in care of MATER patients during inpatient and outpatient medical care for the mother/infant dyad, providing TJUH staff with appropriate consultation medication and other addiction treatment-related factors. Assists patients in maintaining prenatal, well-child, primary, and specialty medical care. Monitors and relays appropriate medical information to MATER staff and provides coverage for emergency consults. Collaborates with program physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants and provide education to TJU students; Coordinates medication changes with program physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, including supporting prior authorizations and refills of prescribed medications and oversees proper entry into the MATER EHR. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors of Science in Nursing required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Addiction treatment, ambulatory obstetrics and supervisory/management experience preferred
