Job Summary:
The Community Business Banking Manager leads, guides, and directs a team of Business Banking Relationship Managers. They are also responsible for growing Telhio membership through servicing businesses, their owners, and employees. The Community Business Banking Manager is also responsible for program management, profitability, and deal negotiation with medium to large employers and affinity groups. This individual must have the ability to manage team goals, incentives, and craft a strategic plan to meet team targets. In addition, the Community Business Banking Manager will develop tools and provide coaching opportunities to assist the sales goals of the retail management team. Additionally, the Community Business Banking Manager, is expected to sell and service business products including loan originations, deposit products, merchant services, business credit cards and ancillary services for business members.
What you will do:
Leadership & Staff Development:
- Ensure workflow and procedures are put into place, trained on, and used/followed.
- Ensure that all staff have the "tools" to perform their duties and responsibilities including ongoing training of products, services, sales methods, etc.
- Coaching and developing a team to onboard new business
- Coach all staff regularly and document pertinent issues and actions performed by their staff (work samples).
- Create and maintain an enjoyable and positive work environment for the lending team.
- Write and conduct Performance Appraisals, ensuring formal documentation of staff performance during specified periods of time
- Develop an execution plan to meet strategic objectives as set forth by Chief Lending Officer
- Establish yearly incentive plans in conjunction with Chief Lending Officer
Human Resources / Information Technology Compliance:
- Reviews and approves timecards on a timely basis
- Monitors and approves time off requests for sick time, personal time, and vacation.
- Documents performance improvement opportunities when appropriate and are consistent among team members.
- Effectively manages employees in compliance with HR Operations Manual
- Ensures staff is compliant with information system security and physical security.
- Works with the Chief Lending Officer to provide updated training for the Business Banking Relationship Manager team.
Community Partnerships and Obtaining/Maintaining Small Business Banking:
- Solicit new members
- Work with leadership on expanding counties and market penetration.
- Work closely with the executive team to establish partnerships with larger employers or affinity groups
- Represent the credit union in the community on various boards, committees, seeking out networking and other business opportunities.
- Represent TCU at Events
Review loan applications and forward to Underwriter within 24 hours.
Reviews loan application information for completeness.
Verifies receipt of Personal Financial Statement
Verification of Personal Tax returns
Verification of Corporate Tax Returns
Other documents as needed.
Submit the loan file to Credit Analyst
Business Lending Production and Cross Selling the following products.

Mortgage/ Consumer Loan Referrals

What you will need:
- High School Diploma - Required
- Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
- 7-9 years - Demonstrated sales (including commercial lending): Required
- 7-9 years - Client facing experience in banking and/or the credit union: Required
